| Screen Name Changing |
Make an AIM name that is the same as your AOL screen
name,
log on to AIM using the same AIM name,
goto "Edit Options" under "menu" or
"my aim",
then select "Format Screen Name",
then, simply change your name according to your liking; it
will only show up this way on buddy lists and IM's, not in
chats.
Note: you can only change uppercase/lowercase and
spacing. |

If you use AIM alot, you will get tired of
those annoying advertisements, they look bad and slow down
your connection.

| Ghosting |
Goto your buddy list,
click on setup,
click on privacy preferences,
select "Block all AOL members and AOL Instant Messenger
Users",
select under apply "Buddy List and Instant
Messages" |
| Kill Hourglass (Kill Wait) |
When there is an hourglass, move the
hourglass over "help" on the menu and double click
on it until the hourglass goes away. Now, click on
"help" and then click on "About America
Online". When the about box appears, you can
click "ok". You are now, un-frozen! |
| AOL Idler |
If you wish to go idle for a long time or
you don't want to use an idle bot, you can go to keyword: quickmenu
. This brings up a new-users quick menu, but it can
also be used as AOL's own idler! |
